A possible photography contest in the works

I want to know from any pro or amateur photogs out there if they would be willing to support a site to have monthly photo contests? The prizes might start out small but if I get enough support, this could be really cool. Let me know please.

New ways to get hosed by your health care professional

I recently went for a doctors appointment for a routine physical, which according to my insurance plan is covered 100%. Nothing out of pocket. No co-pay, nothing. If you believe that I've got a bridge I want to sell you. 4 months after my appointment I received an $80 bill for 20 minutes of the good Doc's time. After repeatedly calling the billing department, I was met with a snotty attitude and a threat of turning the bill over to collections if it didn't get paid. I then contacted my insurance provider and was told to basically suck it up, since the doctors charge was legit.
If you go to a doctor for a routine physical which is supposed to be covered, if the doctor even asks you about ANY type of pre-existing condition you have, you can be billed for it. Even if you don't want to talk about it, you're getting charged. Double check with your insurance provider and ask your doctor to keep the chit chat down to a minimum or face a fee!

Stop raising stamp prices

Maybe if the postal workers did a decent job overall and didn't lose so many packages or actually delivered mail on time, people would use them more, thereby eliminating the extra cost of postage. Hire people who actually want a job and would kill to be able to buy food for their families.....maybe I shouldn't say "kill" and "postal workers" in the same blog message.

Te'o is no victim. He's in on it somehow

You really expect people to believe you when you say your girlfriend died, but you've never met her? I do know a guy who claimed for years to have a girlfriend, but I'm sure that was bogus too. This is lame. Notre Dame choked now you want sympathy. Go away dude!

This is great

One of the funniest pictures I've seen in a long time. I'm just sad I didn't come up with it.

This was painful to watch

I was watching this episode the other night and I felt so bad, but REALLY? Amish people could have figured out the answer to this puzzle for God's sake!

Shark finning must stop

This really irritates the crap out of me. While sharks can be scary creatures, they are still beautiful and serve a wonderful purpose to the earth and oceans as a whole. This act of shark finning has to stop.

A little something that's been on my mind...

I'm usually the type of person who can roll with just about any situation and not get too involved emotionally when bad things happen to people I don't know. I feel sorry for them and their families when people suffer loss and I've suffered losses myself over the years and I know that people who don't know me have the same feelings. But the recent shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary really got to me. It's a horrible thing when people die. It's even worse when it was a brutal killing. Children dying in a brutal manner is about the worst thing ever imagined, however. The families touched by this horrific incident have no idea yet how their pain is felt all over the country if not the world. I started writing this not too long after it happened but kind of shelved it since I'm not a poet. But after hearing of shootings and random killings on the news constantly it seems anymore, I decided to finish and dedicate it to not only the families of the ones lost at the school, but to anyone who has lost a loved one in such a tragic and heartless way.

As the day begins I start with a sigh,
I stare out the window and I ask, "Why"?
Children laughing, full of innocence,
Now a memory that makes no sense.
Families falling apart at the seams,
from seeing them gone or hearing their screams.
Another senseless tragedy rendered,
On loved ones who were so warm and tender.
As the days go by our hearts will heal,
Our minds will clear & with loneliness, deal.
The faces of those who were lost in a flash,
Will be forever kept in our memories past.
We look to the future with hope in our hearts,
And pray for another whose loved one departs.
Be brave & stand firm when waters get rough,
Until the day comes when God says, "Enough"

This is dedicated to all who have suffered any great loss in your life.

This is the worst story I've ever heard..

All I can say about this story is, I'm so depressed. The average American worker gets a fraction of his salary come retirement time and this corporate bigwig gets this!! WOW!

How do you sell stock photos to make extra money?

So it's been over a year since I posted my last message on here and I feel stupid. But for some reason, people are still coming. So I've decided to start posting again. I have been a fan of photography for years and I have been trying to figure out a way to use that to make some money on the side. I recently bought a new Kodak Z5010 digital camera, and so far I've been very pleased with my purchase. I just need some inspiration and ideas. I'm hoping any of you who stop by can give me some suggestions. I would also gladly post your names and or blog sites as a thank you to drive others to your sites as well. I hope to hear from others soon. Thanks.

Referrer spam

I have noticed on my stats page that there are a couple referrer links.
One of them is domar.ru and the other is glowlan.tk
DO NOT CLICK either of these links. Neither of them are supported by my blog. I repeat. DO NOT CLICK either of these links if you see them.
Thank you

The price of justice.....

Observation:
So the day after Dr. Murray's sentencing to four years in prison for the death of Michael Jackson, I have to wonder. What really is the price of "Justice"? There are thousands of people in jails all over the country who have been waiting for court dates for months or years. Some guilty, some innocent. Does it seem that people who do wrong or are accused of doing wrong to someone with a butt load of cash, get to court a lot quicker than others who don't have the high profile or bank account of the Jacksons?
Isn't the legal/justice system supposed to treat all equally and fairly? Why does Clayfaces' errrr Michael Jackson's doctor get a trial, sentenced, and put away in about 1/10 of the time it takes for anyone else? Taxpayers are keeping people in jails for years without a fair trial. You'll get your "Due process" as soon as the check clears.

Weird survey. What do you do when you get on an elevator?

Observation:
I live in a large apartment building and I ride the elevator at least twice a day. My office building also has an elevator and I ride that one even more. One thing that always gets me is how people react to being in an elevator. You have the people who get in and go as far to the back as possible or stand right in front of the door with their nose so close it could get caught. Then you have the people who either stare straight at the floor, the ones who stare straight at the floor change lights, or the small talk people who try to have a little banter in the closed in space to alleviate any uncomfortable moments. I realized that when I get in the elevator I tend to go to the back corner and put my head down and look at the floor unless there are others in the elevator then I try to speak and be cordial. I'm curious about others and how the act and what they do while riding the elevator. Leave a comment about how you act and what you do but please, no dirty stuff okay.

Stop the Kardashians

Man am I mad. Someone else had the forethought to start a petition to get the Kardashians off of TV. If there was one thing that would make me happy, aside from a billion dollars, a house in the Maldives, and a weiner dog farm, this would be it. I'm so sick of seeing the bloated ego freaks everywhere anymore. It's pathetic that people even allow their families to watch their show(s). These people are about as appealing as the losers from the Jersey Shore. Follow this link and sign the petition. Make sure you log in at a less busy time. Supposedly the servers are so overwhelmed with people trying to sign, they are crashing. People, remember. Take it nice and slow in an orderly fashion. Sign the petition then log off. Let all sane humans have a chance to help get rid of the most annoying family since the Mansons.

Kim Kardashians divorce, and why they all suck

I don't know about any of you guys, but the whole Kim Kardashian divorce really threw me. Those two kids seemed so much in love, I thought it would last forever. The fairy tale $10 million dollar wedding, the $2 million dollar ring, the month long photo op, I mean the honeymoon. Gee 72 days, that may be an eternity in Hollywood to some. Really? 72 days? I've had gas that's lasted longer. (Maybe not something I should share)
I think the people of the United States and just about everywhere else for that matter are so bored and miserable with their own lives that they have to follow the bored and miserable lives of worthless non-celebrities likes the Kardashians. A family whose only real claims to fame are the step dad who was a super athlete back in 50's or something, a girl with a giant rear end who made a sex tape with another nobody, and a real father who's lifes work was getting a jury to let one of the countries most notorious murderer's go free.
So here we are so many years later, falling victim to the worst idea in the history of mankind, reality television. This just proves that people are so weak minded and lazy that the only ideas they can come up with are watching the rich and famous get more rich and more famous for doing absolutely nothing for humanity. So Kim is giving back $200 k to charity. Big whoop dee doo. People are making this family so rich and entitled by watching their TV shows, buying their perfumes and whatever else they are whoring themselves out to, and others who are sitting back and watching are paying a cable company to pipe this trash into your home.
Here is your 1% people. Occupy Hollywood and stop the Kardashian juggernaut. Boycott their shows, don't buy any magazines with their faces on them, stop buying their hawked products.
Ignore them now!! Don't be followers. End the madness!!

Amy Winehouse dies from alcohol poisoning...shocker

Observation:
So the final coroner report came out and stated that Grammy Award winner Amy Winehouse died from acute alcohol poisoning. Hmmmm, I think something fishy is going on here. She died July 23rd and it took the coroner over 3 months to determine that? The guys who live under the rocks on the Geico commercials could have figured that out way sooner. The report shows the police found 3 empty vodka bottles in her apartment. You'd think they would test for that first wouldn't you?
The same report as shown on CNN.com has a comment from Andrew Morris, Winehouse's (Ahem) body guard, who says she didn't "drink to get drunk". Really? Why did she drink, to solve the world hunger issue? The woman was a known drug abuser/alcoholic who has had several run ins with the law over the years for issues related to her being wasted. I'm sure most people don't drink to get drunk, it just kind of happens when you polish off a gallon of booze.
It's a shame that people continue to do stupid things and die from it and that the families of these people have to continue to live with it.

HPV vaccine for preteens

Observation:
So some people are calling for preteen boys to get vaccinated for the HPV virus. This will bring in millions (billions) of dollars to the drug manufacturers who will be developing this vaccine and distributing it to doctors offices and hospitals worldwide. It just goes to show you that medical wonders never cease. I'm sure they are doing this out of the goodness of their hearts and not for the money.
How about trying this instead. Parents, teach your kids to either abstain or practice safe sex, and encourage them to wait until they are old enough to understand the ramifications of engaging in intercourse. There are so many young kids who are already making more young kids already. Make it stop!! If parents were still taking the lead in homes across the country and across the world, this issue wouldn't be such a problem. Pushing an STD drug on young kids will just give them more reason to want to start having sex without suffering any consequences it can bring. Unwanted pregnancy, welfare, higher insurance rates, abortions, let alone STD's.
Parents, it's time you did YOUR jobs instead of everyone else doing it for you!!
Train your kids before it's too late.

Sharks bite? What?!?

Observation/Rant:
So over the past couple weeks some unfortunate swimmers have been either bitten and or killed by sharks off the coast of Australia.....really? Who didn't see that coming? You are spearfishing off the coast of the Great White Shark capital of the world, and the families are pissed off because a shark killed someone. I got bad news for you people. You are in their home, swimming in their backyard, so to speak, with a dying fish, bleeding and writhing about on a spear. What did you think was going to happen? The shark swims over, takes a look and goes "Holy crap it's a human. I can't bite HIM!! That's just wrong" Idiots!! If you don't want to get bitten by a shark, don't go in the water!! Mankind doesn't own EVERYTHING, so you aren't entitled to everything.
You can swim but know this, if you go in the water, you run a risk of being bitten and either getting seriously hurt or dying. Deal with it. Now the Australian government is giving permission to people to go hunt for the shark that killed these people. Lame!! It's turning into the movie Jaws. There will be hundreds of morons trying to find one shark in an ocean of thousands of other sharks, animals who are running the risk of endangerment more and more every year. Leave the sharks alone or face the consequences!
Face facts. Sharks own the oceans, not you!!

Wild Animals on the loose in Ohio

Observation:
The ones I feel sorry for the most here are the animals. They were probably kept illegally, treated poorly, and were scared out of their minds. It's too bad the owner shot himself, now he can't be charged with endangerment, the weapons charge he was accused of and I'm sure a whole slew of other things he could be put away for. This idiot had endangered species of animals living in cages and the police had to kill them. What a waste. The animals didn't do anything wrong but they are the ones who got punished. I grew up about 45 miles from Zanesville, OH. It's a really nice old town with a lot of history. Now the only thing it will be known for is the loser redneck piece of garbage who got a bunch of innocent animals killed.
Way to go douche rocket. I hope some wild animals get to feed on your carcass.
