Amy Winehouse dies from alcohol poisoning...shocker

Observation:
So the final coroner report came out and stated that Grammy Award winner Amy Winehouse died from acute alcohol poisoning. Hmmmm, I think something fishy is going on here. She died July 23rd and it took the coroner over 3 months to determine that? The guys who live under the rocks on the Geico commercials could have figured that out way sooner. The report shows the police found 3 empty vodka bottles in her apartment. You'd think they would test for that first wouldn't you?
The same report as shown on CNN.com has a comment from Andrew Morris, Winehouse's (Ahem) body guard, who says she didn't "drink to get drunk". Really? Why did she drink, to solve the world hunger issue? The woman was a known drug abuser/alcoholic who has had several run ins with the law over the years for issues related to her being wasted. I'm sure most people don't drink to get drunk, it just kind of happens when you polish off a gallon of booze.
It's a shame that people continue to do stupid things and die from it and that the families of these people have to continue to live with it.

HPV vaccine for preteens

Observation:
So some people are calling for preteen boys to get vaccinated for the HPV virus. This will bring in millions (billions) of dollars to the drug manufacturers who will be developing this vaccine and distributing it to doctors offices and hospitals worldwide. It just goes to show you that medical wonders never cease. I'm sure they are doing this out of the goodness of their hearts and not for the money.
How about trying this instead. Parents, teach your kids to either abstain or practice safe sex, and encourage them to wait until they are old enough to understand the ramifications of engaging in intercourse. There are so many young kids who are already making more young kids already. Make it stop!! If parents were still taking the lead in homes across the country and across the world, this issue wouldn't be such a problem. Pushing an STD drug on young kids will just give them more reason to want to start having sex without suffering any consequences it can bring. Unwanted pregnancy, welfare, higher insurance rates, abortions, let alone STD's.
Parents, it's time you did YOUR jobs instead of everyone else doing it for you!!
Train your kids before it's too late.

Sharks bite? What?!?

Observation/Rant:
So over the past couple weeks some unfortunate swimmers have been either bitten and or killed by sharks off the coast of Australia.....really? Who didn't see that coming? You are spearfishing off the coast of the Great White Shark capital of the world, and the families are pissed off because a shark killed someone. I got bad news for you people. You are in their home, swimming in their backyard, so to speak, with a dying fish, bleeding and writhing about on a spear. What did you think was going to happen? The shark swims over, takes a look and goes "Holy crap it's a human. I can't bite HIM!! That's just wrong" Idiots!! If you don't want to get bitten by a shark, don't go in the water!! Mankind doesn't own EVERYTHING, so you aren't entitled to everything.
You can swim but know this, if you go in the water, you run a risk of being bitten and either getting seriously hurt or dying. Deal with it. Now the Australian government is giving permission to people to go hunt for the shark that killed these people. Lame!! It's turning into the movie Jaws. There will be hundreds of morons trying to find one shark in an ocean of thousands of other sharks, animals who are running the risk of endangerment more and more every year. Leave the sharks alone or face the consequences!
Face facts. Sharks own the oceans, not you!!

Wild Animals on the loose in Ohio

Observation:
The ones I feel sorry for the most here are the animals. They were probably kept illegally, treated poorly, and were scared out of their minds. It's too bad the owner shot himself, now he can't be charged with endangerment, the weapons charge he was accused of and I'm sure a whole slew of other things he could be put away for. This idiot had endangered species of animals living in cages and the police had to kill them. What a waste. The animals didn't do anything wrong but they are the ones who got punished. I grew up about 45 miles from Zanesville, OH. It's a really nice old town with a lot of history. Now the only thing it will be known for is the loser redneck piece of garbage who got a bunch of innocent animals killed.
Way to go douche rocket. I hope some wild animals get to feed on your carcass.

Dancing with the Stars

Rant/Observation:

So my wife and I are both really big fans of Dancing with the Stars, even though the use of the word "Star" is up for some serious debate. The issues I/We have developed over the years, however are making it hard to keep watching the show. First of all as I mentioned at the top is the term "Stars". Sure there have been some fairly recognizable names on the show over the years. Most notably, Donny and Marie Osmond, Emmitt Smith and Jerry Rice, and a few others. If you look at the overall numbers though, a majority of these people are only famous for being "D" listers, semi-famous sports stars, Disney channel kids, or worse someone named Kardashian or The Situation.
The second issue is the way the show has turned into a popularity contest and not a dancing competition. Going back to Sabrina and Mark which I think were in Season 4 or 5, can't honestly remember. She was by far the best dancer on the show and was voted out after 3 weeks maybe? This pattern has continued the rest of the seasons down to now which leads me to this next little irritation. Why is Chaz Bono and Carson Kressly still on the show? In all honesty, they are horrible!!! The gay and lesbian community have pretty much locked up these two as future finalists with the way the home voting has been going. They sent home Kristin Cavalleri and Chynna Phillips, both were in the top tiers of scoring through the first four weeks of the show with Chaz and Carson scraping up the bottom of the barrel.
The show needs to change the voting procedures and take the upsets out of the hands of the home viewers and let the judges have the final say. The 3 judges should have a final tally of 51% of the voting. Granted, they are a bit biased at times but they are professionals and know what they are doing. No way should Bono or Kressly still be on the show. Stop stuffing the ballot boxes, and let the show get back to what it should be, a dancing competition.
I don't want a bunch of whining and complaining from anyone about this either. I'm not gay bashing anyone. I'm simply pointing out the obvious.

Cell phones in restaurants

Rant:
I am not a person who likes to complain....much. I guess one of my main gripes, are people who use cell phones in restaurants. I'm sure your Aunt Gertrude won't mind if you wait until dinner is over for you to call and ask how her gout is doing, right?
It's rude to use your cell phone in a restaurant for several reasons. One, your dinner companions may not want to hear your conversation with your wife, friends, or business clients while you are supposed to be visiting and/or working with them. Two, the other restaurant patrons who are within ear shot of your boring, loud, or otherwise intrusive conversation while THEY are trying to enjoy dinner with family or friends. Three, the servers, who while their job is to serve you food and drinks while you relax and enjoy, don't like coming back to tables constantly to attempt to take orders. You are wasting their time when they could be serving other customers, making them happy and receiving better tips. However, since you are a rude and obnoxious bore, making everyone around you listen to your call, delaying their otherwise good service because the server has to keep coming back to see if you are finished with your phone call so you can place an order, you ruin the experience of a nice meal.
All restaurants and dining establishments should ban all cell phone use by customers while inside the building. Make them go outside during any "important" calls that need to be made, and direct servers to not even go near a table if any of these guidelines are not followed.
What did people do before the invention of cell phones? Run to the pay phone as soon as they got inside the restaurant to call someone and then stay on the phone for 20 minutes, talking over everyone? No, they waited til they got home, picked up the phone and talked as long as they needed to.
In short, keep cell phones in your pockets or purse, on vibrate or even silenced while in eating establishments.
Don't disturb others with your inconsiderate behavior.
